Crankcase Splitting

SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.

Remove the cylinder head. See the Cylinder Head Removal topic for more information.

Remove the cylinder and piston. See the Cylinder and Piston topic.

Remove the Clutch. See the Clutch topic for more information.

Remove the right side engine components. See the Right Side Engine Components topic for more information.

Remove the balancer. See the Balancer topic for more information.

Remove the left side engine components. See the Left Side Engine Components topic for more information.

Remove the engine from the frame. See the Engine Removal topic for more information.

Remove the engine sprocket. See the Engine Sprocket topic for more information.

Slide back the transmission crankcase breather hose clamp with needle nose pliers and remove the breather hose. Inspect the hose for damage and deterioration.
