SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Clean all of the fork components with aerosol brake cleaner and a lint free cloth. Coat the bushings and seals with fork oil. Set the compression and rebound damper adjusters to their softest position (turned fully counterclockwise).
Install the dust cover and seal retaining clip onto the fork tube. Install the new slider bushing onto the fork tube, being careful not to damage the Teflon coating.
Place plastic wrap over the end of the inner fork tube so the sharp edges of the slider bushing don’t cut the fork seal lips. Slide the fork seal onto the inner fork tube with the letters facing the dust seal.
Remove the plastic wrap and slide the fork seal seat and guide bushing onto the fork tube.
