Carburetor Assembly

SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.

Install the TPS if it has been removed. See the Carburetor Inspection and Adjustment topic for more information.

Be gentle when installing the jets and pilot screw. These parts are soft and are easily damaged.

Install the O-ring, washer, and spring into the pilot screw hole in that order. Insert the pilot screw. Turn the pilot screw all the way in with a small flat blade screwdriver. Back out the screw to its original position. See below for the stock position if you do not know the original position.


1 1/4 turns out for 2002

1 1/2 turns out for 2003

1 3/8 turns out for 2004

1 7/8 turns out for 2005

1 1/2 turns out for 2006

1 3/4 turns out for 2007


1 1/4 turns out for all years
