The Honda CRF450 uses tapered roller bearings in the steering.
SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Remove the front number plate. See the Front Number Plate topic for more information.
Remove the front fender. See the Front Fender topic for more information.
Remove the handlebar. See the Handlebar topic for more information.
On 2008 and newer models you must remove the steering damper. Remove the two steering damper mounting bolts and collars. Remove the steering damper.
Remove the gas cap vent hose from the steering stem nut.
