Shock Absorber

SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.


Remove the following components:

Note: Support the motorcycle to prevent the rear suspension collapsing when removing the shock absorber.


Remove the sidestand switch to get it out of the way. For more information on the sidestand switch, see the Switches topic.


To remove the lower shock mounting bolt, the tie rod has to be moved out of the way.
