VIN and Engine Number Location

The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is stamped on the right side of the frame steering head.

A safety certification label is affixed to the left side of the frame steering head (though it may wrap far enough around it to also be seen partially from the right side). This label also contains the VIN.

The engine number is stamped on the lower left side of the engine crankcase.

The throttle body contains an identification stamped on the lower left side.

The tail section (rear fender) may contain on or more US (shown) or Canadian emission control information labels.

The chain guard normally contains labels including chain adjustment specs, tire pressure specs, and a safety warning.
