Oil Pump

0

An internal, mechanical pump that circulates engine oil through a four stroke motorcycle engine under pressure. Many motorcycles are fitted with oil pressure sensors so that a drop in oil pressure can be detected prior to engine damage. Insufficient oil pressure will result in inadequate engine lubrication and can result in catastrophic failure. Some two stroke motorcycles and ATVs have oil pumps that inject two stroke oil into the carburetor or directly into the engine.
