The Cyclepedia team begins a full tear down of a 2012 Suzuki RMZ250 motorcycle. After a long outdoor motocross race season this RMZ250 is past due for many items on the scheduled service chart. We don’t have much time to prep this bike because the indoor motocross series begins soon.
In order to get it ready this Suzuki RMZ250 will need to be gone over from the ground up. In addition to lubing cables, checking for loose bolts and worn items we’ll be rebuilding the top end, and installing a new clutch. We plan on tearing into the bottom end to check the condition of the crank, transmission and related bearings. This RMZ250 has a leaky fork seal that needs to be addressed and while we are in there we’ll change the fork oil and properly adjust the fluid height.
We look forward to working on this modern 4-stroke off-road bike because of some of the interesting new technologies being utilized by Suzuki. If your RMZ250 or any other motorcycle is getting a little worn down and needs some love don’t hold out – we have the repair and maintenance info you need to keep it going!
