Zerk Fitting

0

A specially made fitting that allows grease to be injected into it for the purpose of delivering lubricant to a bearing or bushing that is part of a larger assembly. On motorcycles and ATVs it is not uncommon to see them utilized on swing-arms, steering heads and suspension linkage. Zerk fittings are generally installed by drilling and tapping an assembly and then threading the fitting in until it seats. Grease is retained inside the Zerk fitting by the way of a check ball and spring on the end of the grease nipple. Zerk fittings are available in several different sizes, colors and angles.
