SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Rear Sprocket Removal
Remove the rear wheel. See the Rear Wheel Removal topic for more information.

Pull outwards on the rear sprocket with both hands until it comes loose from the wheel. Check the rubber cush drive for wear or damage-replace as needed.

Remove the eight sprocket nuts using a 12 mm wrench and remove the sprocket from its holder.
Rear Sprocket Installation
Install the rear sprocket in the reverse order of disassembly.
Install the sprocket nuts and tighten them to their proper torque specification.
Rear sprocket nut torque: 27 N-m or 20 ft-lb
Place the sprocket holder back in the rubber cush drive.
Reinstall the rear wheel. See the Rear Wheel Installation topic for more information.
