SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Draining
Install a drain pan under the lower fork tube and remove the Phillips head drain screw using a #2 Phillips head screwdriver.
Holding the front brake on, compress the front suspension until all the oil has drained from the fork tube.
Loosen the upper triple clamp bolts and nuts using two 12 mm wrenches. Leave the lower triple clamp bolts tight.
Use a pick or small screw driver to remove the air pressure in the front forks. Always wear eye protection when performing this procedure.
Remove the fork cap bolt using a 19 mm wrench. Take caution when removing the fork cap, there is spring tension that could cause the cap to fly out, possibly causing injury or damage.


Remove the fork cap and spacer.
Install the drain plug into the lower fork tube and tighten it securely. Pour in the correct amount of fork oil into the fork tube.

Reinstall the spacer.
Install the fork cap bolt and tighten it hand tight.


Torque the fork cap bolt and then the upper triple clamp bolts to specification.
upper and lower triple clamp pinch bolt torque: 25 N-m or 18 ft-lb
fork cap bolt torque: 29 N-m or 22 ft-lb
