SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Carburetor Removal
Remove the seat. See the Seat topic for more information.
Remove the side covers. See the Side Covers topic for more information.
Remove the fuel tank. See the Fuel Tank topic for more information.

Install a shop towel underneath the carburetor and drain the fuel by loosening the Allen drain bolt with a 3 mm Allen wrench.

After the fuel is drained reinstall the drain screw and tighten it securely.

Loosen the carburetor clamp at the intake manifold using a #2 Phillips head screwdriver.

Loosen the carburetor clamp at the air box using a #2 Phillips head screwdriver.

Remove the Phillips head screw that secures the throttle cable bracket to the right side of the carburetor.

Remove the throttle cable ends from the throttle linkage.

Push back on the carburetor until the front comes out of the intake manifold.

Use a 12 mm wrench to remove the choke plunger from the left side of the carburetor.

Inspect the choke plunger for wear or damage-replace as needed.

Remove the carburetor from the air box boot.
Carburetor Installation

Loosen the air box and intake manifold clamp screws to the last threads, this will make the installation of the carburetor much easier.

Reinstall the choke and tighten it securely. Do not over tighten it as the threads are made out of plastic and are easily stripped.

Place the rear of the carburetor into the air box boot. A 90° pick makes this job easier. Push the carburetor back and slide it into the intake manifold.

Tighten the air box clamp securely.

Tighten the intake manifold clamp securely.

Place the throttle cable ends back into the throttle linkage.

Reinstall the throttle cable bracket and tighten the screw securely.
