SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Check the throttle cable adjustment by gently rotating the throttle grip back and forth until resistance is felt.
Throttle free play: 2 to 3 mm
Start the engine and let it warm up. Turn the handlebars from side to side, if the engine rpm changes either the free play is too small or the throttle cables are not routed properly.

If the throttle free play is not within specification, pull back the rubber boot and turn the front throttle cable adjuster until it is. Turning the adjuster out will decrease the amount of free play, turning it in will increase the free play.
Tighten the lock nut and slide the rubber boot back into position.
