Battery
SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Battery Type: KMX 14-BS
Battery Capacity: 12 V 12 Ah

Remove the seat. See the Seat [3] topic for more information.
The battery is mounted under the front of the seat.
Free the batter leads from their clamps.
Remove the negative battery cable first with a #3 Phillips or 10 mm socket.
Pull back the red cover. Remove the positive battery cable after the negative battery cable has been removed with a #3 Phillips or 10 mm socket.
Loosen the three battery bracket bolts with a 10 mm socket. Remove the battery bracket bolts and washers.
Lift off the battery bracket.
Remove the battery.
You will need a digital multimeter to inspect the battery.
Special Tool – Hand Tester: 57001-1394
Check the battery voltage with a multi-meter. Place the positive probe onto the positive battery terminal and the negative probe to the negative battery terminal. If the battery reads under 12.8 V it is undercharged.
Install the battery. Fit the battery bracket into place.
Install the battery bracket bolts and washers. Tighten the three battery bracket bolts securely with a 10 mm socket.
Connect the positive cable to the positive batter terminal and thread in the terminal screw. Tighten the screw securely with a #3 Phillips or 10 mm socket. Slide the red cover over the terminal.
Connect the negative battery cable and install the screw with a #3 Phillips or 10 mm socket.
Secure the battery leads with the clamps.
