Starter Clutch
SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Remove the starter clutch gear and flywheel. See the Alternator [2] topic.
Fit the starter clutch gear into the starter clutch on the back of the flywheel. The flywheel should turn freely counterclockwise, but not clockwise.
To remove the starter clutch take out the six bolts with a 6 mm hex socket.
Remove the starter clutch from the back of the flywheel.
Replace the starter clutch components as needed.
Install the starter clutch components to the back of the flywheel. Install the six starter clutch bolts and tighten them to specification with a 6 mm hex socket.
Starter Motor Clutch Bolts: 34 N-m, 3.5 kgf-m, 25 ft-lb
