Rear Fender

SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.

Removal

Remove the seat. See the Seat topic for more information.

Remove the rear carrier. See the Bumpers and Carriers topic for more information.

On the right side there are three screws and nuts that hold the rear flap to the footrest. Remove the screws and nuts with a #3 Phillips screwdriver and a 10 mm socket.

On the left side there are three screws and nuts that hold the rear flap to the footrest. Remove the screws and nuts with a #3 Phillips screwdriver and a 10 mm socket. Remove the other two screws with a #3 Phillips screwdriver.

Remove the two rear fender screws with a #3 Phillips screwdriver.

Remove the storage box lid.

Temporarily remove the fuel tank cap.

Unplug the taillight 3-pin connector.

Lift off the rear fender. Install the fuel tank cap.

Installation

Temporarily remove the fuel tank cap.

Fit the rear fender into place.

Install the fuel tank cap.

Plug in the taillight 3-pin connector.

Install the storage box lid.

Install the two rear fender screws and tighten them securely with a #3 Phillips screwdriver.

Install the three screws and nuts that hold the rear flap to the footrest on the right side. Tighten the screws and nuts securely with a #3 Phillips screwdriver and a 10 mm socket.

Install the three screws and nuts that hold the rear flap to the footrest on the left side. Tighten the screws and nuts securely with a #3 Phillips screwdriver and a 10 mm socket. Install the other two screws with a #3 Phillips screwdriver.
