Carburetor Installation

SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.

Fit the carburetors into place so that the float bowls face to the right.

Route the float bowl drain tubes down the left side of the engine.

Install the choke plungers into the carburetors.

Install the choke plunger plates and tighten the screws securely with a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

Connect the end of the throttle cable to the throttle drum.

Fit the throttle cable adjuster into the groove on the body.

Tighten the throttle cable locknut with a 10 mm wrench.

Install the throttle cable cover.

Tighten the screw securely with a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

Seat the carburetors into the intake boots. Tighten the carburetor clamps securely with a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

Connect the coolant hoses to the carburetors. The coolant hose attaches in the rear, and the hose to the coolant valve attaches in the front. Secure the hoses with the clamps.

Connect the fuel hose to the carburetors. Secure the hose with the clamp.

Install the engine idle speed adjuster into its bracket.

Install the heat guard plate and three heat guard plate bolts.

Tighten the bolts with an 8 mm socket.

Heat guard plate mounting bolts: 8.8 N-m, 0.9 kgf-m, 78 in-lb
