Like this Manual?The engine idle speed should be checked (and adjusted, if necessary) with the engine up to operating temperature. All other engine related periodic maintenance adjustments should be within specification prior to adjusting the engine idle speed.
SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Shift the transmission into neutral, and connect a tachometer.
Turn the idle adjustment screw on the right side of the vehicle to set the idle speed to specification.

Blip the throttle and let it return to idle to make sure the idle stays the same.
