SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.
Inspection
Start the engine and let it warm up. Park the vehicle on a level surface. Stop the engine and allow a short time for the oil to settle.
The engine oil dipstick is located on the left side of the vehicle.
Wipe down the area around the dipstick to prevent debris from entering the engine.Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Insert the dipstick back into the engine, but do not thread it in.
The oil level should be at or slightly below the upper mark.
Add oil the same type and brand of oil to the engine through the dipstick/oil filler hole if necessary.

Inspect the oil dip stick O-ring for damage and replace it as needed.
Engine Oil
Start and run the engine for a minute or two, this will heat the engine and allow the oil to drain out faster and more completely.
NOTE: Hot engine oil can burn you, take precautions not to touch the oil when draining.
Place a drain pan under the oil drain bolt. Loosen the oil drain bolt with a 17 mm socket.
Remove the drain bolt and sealing washer. Allow the oil to drain into the pan.
Remove the dipstick for faster draining.
Oil Filter
Loosen the oil filter with the special tool.
Special Tool-
Oil Filter Wrench: 57001-1249
Remove the oil filter and the rubber oil filter seal from the engine case.
Apply fresh engine oil to the new rubber oil filter seal. Install the new oil filter onto the engine and tighten by hand until the oil filter contacts the engine.
Tighten the oil filter with the special oil filter wrench to specification.

Refilling
When the oil has finished draining install the oil drain bolt with a new sealing washer. Torque the oil drain bolt to specification with a 17 mm socket.

Add the proper type and quantity of oil and install the oil filler cap/dipstick. Start the engine and let it run for several minutes. Check for any oil leaks.
